SFix Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
SFix is a device screen-replacement benefit operated by EC Three (Pty) Ltd t/a EC3 (registration number 2013/023044/07), 305 Umhlanga Rocks Drive, La Lucia, Durban, South Africa (“we”, “us”). SFix is offered to members through participating providers such as insurers and networks. We are the responsible party for the personal information you give us through this website, in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. What we collect
When you register a device or log a claim, we collect:

  • your full name, email address and mobile number

  • your SA ID number, to confirm you are the member on record when you claim

  • the provider through whom you have SFix

  • your device make, model and IMEI number

  • photos of your device, sent to us by email

  • collection and delivery details, and information about the damage, when you log a claim.

Our website may also collect basic technical information such as your browser type and pages visited, through cookies used by our website platform.

3. Why we use it
We use your information only to:

  • register your device and confirm your SFix cover with your provider

  • assess, manage and complete your repair claims

  • arrange courier collection and delivery

  • contact you about your registration and claims

  • prevent fraud and duplicate claims

  • meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.

4. Who we share it with
We share your information only as needed to provide your cover, with:

  • your SFix provider, to confirm your membership

  • our approved repair partners and courier companies

  • service providers who host our website and systems, under appropriate confidentiality and security terms.

Some of these service providers store data outside South Africa. Where this happens, we make sure the information is protected to a standard comparable to POPIA, as required by section 72 of the Act.

5. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your SFix cover is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle queries, claims and legal requirements. After that it is securely deleted or de-identified.

6. How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and require our partners to do the same.

7. Your rights
Under POPIA you may:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy

  • ask us to correct or delete your information

  • object to us processing your information, in certain circumstances

  • lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at www.inforegulator.org.za.
